Food and beverage labels — materials that survive the fridge, the freezer and the wet bottle, from an FSSC 22000 factory

A food label has three jobs at once: stay attached for the product's whole life in real conditions (cold, ice, condensation, oil); present the information regulators require in a form that can be read and scanned; and come from a facility that a retailer's or importer's auditor will accept. Mae Mae has produced labels for food and beverage manufacturers for more than 40 years in a factory certified to FSSC 22000, HACCP and GHPs — from a new brand's first lot to high-speed bottling lines.

  • FSSC 22000 / HACCP / GHPs facility
  • No minimum, no tooling charges
  • 7–10 working days
  • Barcodes graded A or B

Choose the material for the product's real conditions

We carry every material and adhesive type suitable for indirect food contact, and match them to what the label has to survive:

Product / condition What the label must cope with
PET or glass beverage bottles with condensation Wet at application and in the chiller — waterproof film and a wet-surface adhesive
Chilled foods 0–5 °C Application to cold, damp surfaces
Frozen foods −18 °C Application in the cold room; film that stays flexible when frozen
Oils, sauces, greasy products Oil and rubbing — coated or laminated film
Cans, plastic bags, foil pouches Surfaces standard adhesives grip poorly
Snacks, bakery, dry goods Appearance and cost — art or kraft paper, gloss or matt
Premium (coffee, wine, spirits) Specialty papers, clear labels, foil, silkscreen; ice-bucket resistance
Returnable containers Clean removal, no residue

What must appear on a food label

Thai Ministry of Public Health notifications define the mandatory items: product name, FDA registration number, manufacturer/importer name and address, net quantity, ingredients, allergen information, production and expiry dates, storage instructions, minimum type sizes and, where applicable, nutrition labelling. We are not legal advisers, but our prepress team checks that type sizes, clarity and barcodes in your file will actually be readable and scannable on the chosen material → Guide: Thai FDA food-label checklist

Roll labels for food packing lines

Most food and beverage lines use automatic applicators. We rewind to your machine's unwind direction and core, inspect before dispatch, and as volumes rise our digital lines carry the job on the same spec and colour → Roll labels

Why food manufacturers choose Mae Mae

Produced in an FSSC 22000 facility the same food-safety system exporters use, covering all label types at the main factory; the certificates are Mae Mae's own, ready for retailer and importer supplier audits → Why food labels should come from an FSSC 22000 printer Barcodes that scan at the till verified on a barcode grader to grade A or B; a barcode that fails at the retailer means chargebacks and returns. Tested in our own lab low-temperature adhesion, humidity chamber, rub and peel tests, with a test report prepared to your requirement. Labels and cartons from one supplier snack, tea and coffee cartons printed in the same factory to the same colour standard → Food and confectionery cartons Start small new food brands print digital labels from a single label to test the market, then scale in the same factory → Digital labels

FAQ

My labels peel off cold bottles.

Usually the adhesive is wrong for a condensing surface, or labels were applied to already-cold bottles. A wet-surface adhesive on film solves it; we can supply samples to test on your bottles (a charge applies by material and quantity).

Which adhesive for frozen food?

A low-temperature adhesive that holds at −18 °C and bonds on damp surfaces, on a film that does not crack when cold → Guide: labels for frozen food

Can you print production and expiry dates?

Two ways: printed as variable data, or a reserved area on a material that suits your date coder → Variable-data labels

What documents can you provide for a retailer audit?

Mae Mae's FSSC 22000, HACCP, GHPs and ISO 9001 certificates, and lab test reports on request.

Minimum and lead time?

No minimum, no tooling charges; 7–10 working days after artwork approval.
