Cosmetic labels — brand-accurate colour on materials that survive cream, oil and the bathroom shelf

A cosmetic label is the brand's face on the shelf — and the component that meets cream, oil, alcohol, bathroom steam and wet hands every day. Mae Mae has produced labels for global cosmetics and personal-care brands for more than 40 years: clear no-label-look labels, foil, specialty papers, and colour measured to Pantone on every lot — from a single label for a brand that is just starting.

  • From one label
  • No tooling charges
  • 7–10 working days
  • Same colour on every reorder

Cosmetic label types

Clear (no-label look)

clear PP or PET film with white printed only where needed, so the product shows through the bottle; serums, toners, fragrance

Foil and metallic

hot-foil stamping, or printing on metallic film with a white underlayer, for a premium look

Specialty papers

textured and kraft papers for natural and organic brands, with water- and smudge-resistant coating

Tubes and jars

flexible films for squeeze tubes; adhesives for small-radius curves

Variable data

batch numbers, MFG/EXP dates, per-unit QR printed on the label → Variable-data labels

Brand-accurate colour — every lot

Colour is the one thing a cosmetics brand cannot compromise on. At Mae Mae every SKU's colour values are measured with colour instruments and recorded, proofed on the real material before production, and re-measured before dispatch; reorders match the first run within the agreed tolerance. The factory controls colour to the G7 and GMI standards — the same standards applied to your cartons, so label and box are one colour on the shelf → Cosmetic cartons · Guide: matching label and box colour

Materials that survive real use

What the label meets What we match
Cream, oil, product smears Coated or laminated film — stain- and rub-resistant
Alcohol, toners, fragrance Solvent-resistant materials and coatings
Bathroom steam, wet hands Waterproof film, permanent adhesive for damp surfaces
Curved bottles, squeeze tubes, small jars Flexible film, adhesive for curved surfaces
Clear bottles wanting a no-label look Clear film with selective white underlayer
Natural / paper brands Specialty papers with water-resistant coating

We carry every material and adhesive type. Send a photo of the bottle or tube and tell us the product's texture; the recommendation is free, and we can produce samples to test on your real packaging (a charge applies by material and quantity) → Guide: clear labels on bottles — why bubbles happen and how to prevent them

What must appear on a cosmetic label

Thai FDA notifications define the mandatory items: product name and category, ingredients, directions, manufacturer/importer name and address, net content, notification number, batch, manufacturing and expiry dates, and required warnings. We are not legal advisers, but prepress checks that the text in your file will actually be legible at the chosen label size and material.

Getting started

From one label to millions without changing factory

Most cosmetics brands start with a few SKUs in small quantities. Our digital lines print from a single label with no tooling charges, run several shades or scents in one job, and when the brand reaches retail or export, several digital lines running 24 hours carry it into the millions with the same colour values → Digital labels · when you move to an applicator → Roll labels

FAQ

Can you print white on clear labels?

Yes — a selective white underlayer on clear and metallic film, so colour is vivid where needed and the rest stays clear.

Ink rubs off when cream gets on the label.

Choose a coated or laminated film instead of bare paper and rub-test before production; we recommend the stack for your product's texture.

Several shades in small quantities?

Yes — printed in one job, split per shade, no extra tooling.

Will reorders match?

Colour values are recorded per SKU and re-measured before dispatch; reorders match within the agreed tolerance.

Can you make the box too?

Yes — cosmetic cartons are printed in the same factory to the same colour standard, from 1,000 pieces → Cosmetic cartons
